Today Gucci unveiled a few pics of the Mark Ronson-designed limited edition shoe range the DJ/producer created for the fashion house…and I’m not completely sold.

I’m not even going to address the second shoe, because it’s pretty foul. If you’re interested, take a look here.
As much as I like Mr. Ronson, this shoe (above) has left me with a few questions. While boat shoes are certainly hipster-current, it’s kind of at the tail-end of the trend. Do you really want to shell out the limited-edition Gucci prices for something that will be dated in the not-too-distant future? Doesn’t the blue and yellow colorway kind of look like a Nike basketball shoe you can find at Champs? And, does the world really need a high-top boat shoe?
I’ll wait until I see the rest of the line before making my final judgment on this collaboration. But props to Mark Ronson for finding a more fruitful partnership than trying to get this back on track.
